Palafox hotel
The hotel is located in a residential area of Zaragoza, just a few metres away from the main avenue, Paseo de la Independencia. It is also next door to the Casino de Zaragoza and a few minutes’ walk from the Basilica del Pilar.

Palafox hotel
Enhanced by the work of prestigious designer Pascua Ortega, the Palafox Hotel is housed in an eye-catching modern building. Accessible via revolving doors, the spacious lobby is elegantly appointed with marble floors, potted plants and exposed brickwork. Following traditional practice, Ortega uses materials from the region and incorporates elements of Aragonese art. (An example is the depiction of the ancient city gates of Zaragoza outside the Victoria Room.) The 179 carpeted, medium sized guestrooms have sleek traditional styling and are well maintained and comfortable, with quality beds. The en suite bathrooms have tub/shower combos, magnifying mirrors and telephone. The hotel’s Aragonia Paradís Restaurant is located on the ground floor. The menu features Mediterranean style cuisine, together with traditional Aragonese food served with a touch of innovation. Consistent with the philosophy of the Paradis group, the restaurant offers home made, natural dishes, served with the most elegant presentation and style. The Botiga del Aragonia bar, just outside the restaurant, specialises in “tapas”, including ham and other cured meats, conserves and other Aragonese specialities, together with paté and cheeses, served with the very best quality wines.

Very good hotel.Comfortable
relaxing rooms though some noise
from adjacent rooms.The brakfast
was hard to jusify at nearly
20 euros!
Top Tip
All of the Roman remains are
worth a visit-buy a ticket for
them all for 7 euros from the
Forum in front of La Seo(main
cathedral).Must visit the
Basilica of El Pilar.Many tapas
bars in the El Tubo area-though
they are not cheap.

Not really 5*. Pool very small and a bit tired. Room smelled of smoke and there were 3 half-drunk bottles in the mini bar. Playstation in room did not work.(They did try very hard to sort this.)Restaurant very expensive. However, rooms nicely appointed and breakfast unsurpassable!
